We honoured our promise and carried out a special tree planting campaign, together with the organization Bergwaldprojekt e. V., as a way of saying thank you for a successful E-world 2023. In doing so, we wanted to make a small, but significant, contribution to environmental protection.
Our motivation: For each permission, we will plant a tree and thereby double the contribution to climate protection!

More InformationTrees are crucial for our ecosystem as reservoirs of CO2. At the same time, forests protect against soil erosion, avalanches and water, particularly on mountain slopes. The Bergwaldprojekt e.V. is committed to the protection and care of forests, moors and open-air biotopes in over 80 locations in Germany – including Forstenrieder Park in Munich.
The organisation’s initiatives include reforestation and pest control in trees or sections of forest. The association is looking for helping hands and volunteers for its projects all year round.
We supported Bergwaldprojekt e. V. with a donation of 4,000 euros back in 2020. In 2023, 19 colleagues from the entire bmp team made an active contribution to the protection and preservation of forest ecosystems in a special corporate volunteer assignment.
For our tree planting campaign, we took a break from our usual activities and spent an extraordinary day working together in Forstenrieder Park. We planted around 550 European beeches there, together with a forest ranger and the Bergwaldprojekt e. V. team.
European beeches play a crucial role in the water cycle and for the climate. Their dense canopy provides shade and creates a protected zone for numerous animal species. The beech trees’ foliage contributes to humus formation and increases the soil fertility and water storage capacity of the forest. Therefore beech trees are more than just lovely trees – they’re the architects of the forest.

Naturally we want to make a contribution again in 2024 and actively do something to protect the environment. That’s why our team is going alpine pasture clearing together this year. We will be renaturalising several hectares of alpine pasture and helping to create a better habitat for lots of animals, both large and small.
