Sustainable across borders: Benefit from the European biomethane market!

How to achieve attractive long-term profits with the production of biomethane – regardless of the regulatory conditions in your country.

The potential of sustainable energy:

Use your substrates for green biomethane!

Biomethane is the green alternative to fossil natural gas. The biggest plus: When biomethane is used, it produces hardly any emissions that are harmful to the environment. With its great greenhouse gas reduction potential, it makes an important contribution to the energy transition – and at the same time helps to achieve climate targets.

Another advantage is that biomethane can be used in all consumption sectors, from mobility to heat and power to industry. In the future, green gases will continue to play an increasingly important role in Europe’s energy supply.

Biomethane is biogas which is upgraded to natural gas quality. This is produced by the fermentation of biomass such as residual materials or renewable raw materials, e.g. from biowaste or agricultural products.

Sustainability pays off:

Enter the international biomethane market!

Just like natural gas, biomethane is transported via the existing gas grid – even across national borders. This gives plant operators the opportunity to sell their produced volumes and benefit from additional profits, regardless of their own country of origin.

National differences and country-specific legislative requirements do not have to be a disadvantage for biomethane producers. European trade is open to both subsidized and unsubsidized biomethane volumes.

A key factor for potential uses of the biomethane and the resulting profit potential is the substrate used. In addition, biomethane quality and certifications are crucial.

Our recommendation: Sell your biomethane to other European countries. Especially in Germany, the willingness to pay is very high.
As an experienced partner, bmp greengas takes over the international processing for you and opens the borders for EU-wide biomethane trading!

Plan for economic sustainability:

Count on experience and long-term contracts!

The national trade in biomethane involves some effort. If country borders are crossed, it becomes even more complex.

Producers have to keep an eye on changing legislation as well as new and fundamental requirements for their produced biogas: from balancing group management to certification according to REDcert or ISCC, the entry of guarantees of origin in the respective biogas register, and transport management.

We already transport biomethane from European countries to Germany.
Our contracts are set up for around 10 years.
Fixed purchase prices and guaranteed purchase quantities ensure monthly sales.
We purchase subsidized and unsubsidized biomethane.
We create planning and investment security with bankable contracts.
We are also available as a partner for short-term transactions on the spot market.

Successfully sustainable:

with us as your partner!

bmp greengas is Europe’s leading marketer of biomethane and an expert in green gases. We have been developing efficient solutions for tomorrow’s energy supply since 2007.

We are part of the EnBW Group with 20 biomethane plants of our own. Our know-how in plant operation and certification also benefits our production partners throughout Europe.

We are convinced that by supporting producers on issues relevant to the future, such as plant construction, the optimal substrate mix, and biomethane trading, we are making a valuable contribution to the European climate targets. Together with you as a production partner, we want to drive this development forward.
